1980

Established as an off-site public hospital compounding unit for the Auckland region

1980-1992

Manufacture freeze dried aseptic products, laboratory nutrient media, dialysis concentrates and all intravenous (IV) solutions for the three Auckland hospitals

1993

Gained full manufacturing license from Medsafe. Traded in products that were previously supplied at no cost to pharmacies

1994

Established a full management team and identified an overseas joint venture partner

1995

Technology exchange between the Crown and an American multinational minority shareholder. Updated capability beyond glass IV packaging

2000

Biomed fully and independently operated by B Braun USA and EBOS when Crown exited their shareholding

2004

Management buyout of all shares. Fully New Zealand owned and operated from this date to present.
